Pickups / Practices / Scrimmages
Besides league play, FTSC organizes friendly pickup games called Friday Night Lights, which usually take place on the last Friday of each month at various fields. These events are announced on our social media and our monthly newsletter.
The event is free to active FTSC members, but we ask for $5 from each non-member to help cover field costs. All players should bring a light shirt and a dark shirt – no greys or hard-to-sort colors please! We also will have pennies available for when we get particularly high attendance nights. Balls are provided, just bring your cleats, shin guards, and plenty of water to stay hydrated!
FTSC host free, skill-building practices and scrimmages every Sunday starting at 12 PM at Cardozo High (field entrance at Florida Ave and 13th St NW, Washington, DC 20009). These practices and scrimmages are open to players of all skill levels (even if you are brand new to soccer)! We work on basic drills such as passes, throw ins, dribbling, and more.
Afterwards, we invite everyone to join us at Franklin Hall to socialize and meet other members of the club! Please bring soccer cleats, shin guards (if you have them), and plenty of water to stay hydrated.
